While members and guests focused on development in the Mobile/ Baldwin County metropolitan area at the August 25 REAL Professionals Network Gulf South Multi-Discipline meeting, Keith Swilley of Gulf Power brought interesting news to the group regarding trends and development in the Florida Panhandle. Swilley said that in addition to a boom in residential housing in northwest Florida, the arrival of the headquarters for Navy Federal Credit Union has injected thousands of jobs into that community and spurred retail development in the area near Highway 90 and I-10. Swilley said that eventually, the Navy Federal Credit Union facility would employ as many as 10,000 people, a number which got the attention of attendees.
