This month, the DC Mastermind Group enjoyed hearing the perspectives of three guest speakers. Michael Stevens, president of the Capitol Riverfront Business Improvement District, presented the progress and future of development of the millions of square feet along and near north edge of the Anacostia River. Juline Kaleyias of EB5 Capital explained what the EB5 program is and how her company puts funds from foreign investors to work for domestic developers, having $400M in assets under management. Dek Potts of HFF wrapped up the meeting by sharing how this year’s office sales market is faring thus far this year compared to previous years. With $6B in transactions in the DC Metro area YTD (with another $1.5B being tracked), 2017 is tracking slightly behind 2016 and 2015 where the volume was $8B and $9B, but it is still a healthy rate of investment.
