New Administration’s Impact on DC Yet To Be Felt
Though some uncertainty caused by the election has ended, D.C. has yet to see a large bump in real estate activity. Members expect to see a net gain overall, as the defense industry should be leasing more space in Northern Virginia along the Dulles toll road, new residents will need new housing, and small businesses are feeling–perhaps irrationally–optimistic. However the predictions aren’t all rosy as the popular 1031 exchanges may be targeted by Congress in an upcoming tax reform package.
