Will Self-Driving Cars Save The Suburbs?

Millennials that value the ease of getting around cities like D.C. may eventually have to move to the suburbs–at least that’s what industry watchers have been saying for years. It hasn’t been happening like predicted–yet, said Real Professionals Network member Stevan Varga. Varga was optimistic that eventually, Millennials with their kids will move to the suburbs, because for the cost of a private school education you could get a nice house, he added.
Trevor Vietor, another Real Professionals Network member, added that self-driving cars–hitting the roads in just a few years–may be the impetus to finally make the move. With autonomous vehicles, commuters will be able to work while on the road, and commutes will go smoother with fewer crashes to slow down major arteries. “Self-driving cars will make suburbs viable again,” he said.
