This month, the Washington DC REAL Professionals Mastermind group hosted Polly Donaldson and Chris Dickersin-Prokopp, the respective Director and Interim Development Finance Director of the Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD). Donaldson led a robust discussion about DHCD’s programs, highlighting how inclusionary zoning, affordable housing and market-rate development go hand-in-hand; the Property Acquisition and Disposition Division’s plans to release the remainder of their vacant and blighted properties for development opportunities by the end of the year; and efforts to create a regulatory framework for the District Opportunity to Purchase Act.
