Member Nick Maloof, President and General Counsel for Associated Environmental Services updated the group on the latest status of the Department of Environmental Quality with regard to the thresholds for contaminants, informing the group that there has been no change. Many protracted deals including one he has been working on for a year with fellow member, Sheryl Silberstein of Maddin Hauser, have stagnated on the sidelines waiting this out. Because there is not enough input from the many entities that are being impacted such as real estate finance, development, and property management, he urged members to see themselves as stakeholders in the outcome of this debate and to contact their representatives to help move the solution along.
