Community College of Allegheny County is undertaking short- and long-range initiatives to help meet the increased demand for a well-trained regional workforce.

At the June meeting, the Pittsburgh Mastermind Group heard from Dr. Gretchen Mullin-Sawicki, president, North Hills Campus and West Hills Center, and J.B. Messer, CCAC’s chief facilities officer.
Responding to the demand for more IT workers and training in tech-rich fields, CCAC North in January opened an Innovation Institute on its North Campus. Completed in less than a year, a 1,600-square-foot space was renovated and repurposed into a hub to promote student collaboration with industry, with a focus on the fields of cybersecurity, data analytics, multimedia programming, simulation and gaming programs.
CCAC’s strategic plan emphasizes the best use of facilities to meet the training and education demands required to produce an able workforce.
CCAC is a community college with four campuses and four centers, enrolling about 50,000 people.
