President and CEO of the Montgomery County Economic Development Corporation, David Petr, engaged with DC Mastermind group members and guests about his journey and his plans to lead the EDC. Petr joined the EDC shortly after it split from the county government to form a private entity and is trying to make up for lost time by bringing a more regional approach to how business is done in the area. With a broad mandate and reliance on the county for funds, David and his team members have been very deliberate in marketing the county’s business successes. He sees great opportunity in leveraging the value and strength of the life sciences industry there.
