Members of the Atlanta Mastermind Group welcomed Regina Williams-Gates, City Manager of the City of Doraville. Though less than four square miles with only 10,500 residents, the City of Doraville is teeming with activity. With the ‘end of the Gold Line’ Marta stop as a huge amenity for the community, substantial development is underway that will bring thousands of jobs and visitors to the city. The largest development, The Assembly Yards, is a mixed-use revitalization of the old General Motors plant. Kicked off with Third Rail Studios, the Serta Simmons Headquarters and R&D facility are under construction, bringing over 500 jobs to the project. Also underway is the redevelopment of Carver Hills, located at the northwest corner of Peachtree Industrial and I-285. The site will be the only gated residential community in Doraville, consisting of 50 single family homes and 200 townhomes. Ms. Williams-Gates also shared the City will be focusing on the reworking of ‘Downtown Doraville’ and likely engage a Master Planner to assist with efforts to make the most of the 12 acre, city-owned property.
