The Philadelphia Mastermind Group had the opportunity to learn about real estate in the City from Dominique Casimir, Deputy Commissioner of Real Estate Management for the city of Philadelphia. She discussed reviewing the City’s portfolio and looking for ways to get the most value out of each asset. She talked about Opportunity Zones and some real investment being done in underserved neighborhoods, the expectation of some upcoming RFPs, online platforms for learning more about the city’s resources, and the unique issues that effect the real estate needs of a government entity. She also talked about reframing the way city departments view space and looking for input from the private sector on maximizing efficiency.
