Having lost two major tenants at Metropolitan Square (15th and F, a block from the White House), Boston Properties plans to re-position Metropolitan Square. The law firm Kirkland & Ellis chose not to go through a major renovation and instead to move out. The building, which has not had a significant vacancy in 36 years, will be re-positioned, says Boston Properties executive vice presidentRaymond Ritchey (pictured above with Bob Gage of Covington & Burling LLP, at right) – shared office space WeWork will be taking 120,000 square feet of the building’s most challenging space. The lobby will be renovated as well to attract new, cooler tenants.
