Move over millennials – here comes the “silver tsunami.” You may not be familiar with the term the ‘silver tsunami’, but chances are you know this group. They are the baby boom generation and beyond, and these seniors are making the shift from life in the suburbs to the ease of apartment living. Jane Barkley, with Investors Title, reports that seniors want to enjoy all of the amenities located outside their door without any of the hassles of home ownership. This shift is evident by the growth the Charlotte area has seen, with tens of thousands of apartment building projects planned and even more under construction. Attendees at February’s Mastermind group meeting agree there’s no slowing the growth in the Charlotte market. So whether the next big wave is up North or to the South, it’s certainly a wild ride.
