Art Noriega with Miami’s Parking Authority presented on the current state and potential future of parking infrastructure in Miami. With the growth in ride sharing services, Uber and Lyft, parking demand has been majorly impacted and more garages are reporting loss in revenue. Art presented a future where garage and parking space has new found development potential. Under current building standards, it’s difficult to repurpose garages so perhaps moving forward, new garages will be designed to allow plumbing and electrical infrastructure
