Leonard Roberts, Asset Manager with the City of Coral Gables, gave insight into green initiatives and development projects around the city. One goal is to have a park within 10 minutes walking distance of every resident and with a $300k fund every year set aside for green initiatives the city is nearly 30% green space. Leonard would be first to tell you we are all about “Quality of Life.” There are many impressive development projects happening as well; Merrick Manor (227 Condo Units, 19,000 sq ft) and Plaza Coral Gables (229 residential, 184 hotel rooms, 314,000 sq ft office, and 324,000 sq ft commercial) just to name few. With 8,200 businesses, 150 multinationals, and foreign government offices this is the green city that just keeps getting greener.
