Guest speaker Kristin Rome Winzeler with the North Fulton CID reported on the CID’s many recent successes at the August Atlanta Perimeter meeting. One major accomplishment is the completion of Westside Parkway which allows traffic to go from Roswell to Milton without accessing the often congested GA 400. Bringing together municipalities was key to the success exemplified by redoing a bridge on the parkway that is situated in both Roswell and Alpharetta. Much work has taken place to add improvements at Windward Parkway including the addition of a right turn lane as well as extensive landscaping. In Windward Parkway Phase 2, CID investment will be $700,000 with a total project cost of $5.3 million.

Encore Parkway is another of the CID’s larger projects which is anchored by the newly opened $17.9 million bridge over GA 400 between Mansell Road and Haynes Bridge Road. This joins the Northpoint Mall area with the Encore Park Amphitheater and the Alpharetta Greenway. The pedestrian friendly area is expected to bring additional activity and development to the area.
