Good Times on the Horizon for the Meadowlands
Members of the Northern New Jersey Mastermind Group were regaled by a presentation of the latest development plans for the Meadowlands. Our November speaker was Jim Kirkos, president and CEO of the Meadowlands Regional Chamber, which includes more than 1500 business members, including our own NAI James E. Hanson and Dresdner Robin.
Kirkos provided an exciting update on the status of the long awaited expansion of the Meadowlands Sports & Entertainment complex. Plans are underway to add a 700K SF Convention Center, a hotel complex, parking garages, and entertainment center – “the American Experience, due to open in Spring/Summer 2019. A 1.5-mile monorail, the “People Mover,” will transport attendees between these new venues and the existing MetLife Stadium, Meadowlands Racetrack and IZOD Sports Center. Plans are also under discussion to link the Meadowlands with the west side of Manhattan via an extended #7 Subway to Secaucus.
Another highlight of the meeting was the Member Spotlight presented by host company Dresdner Robin. COO/CFO Tony Ianuale introduced the company’s new branding program and website before turning the floor over to DR’s Joe Mele, Charles Heydt and Grant Lewis to provide an overview of current projects.
