Ann Hanlon, Executive Director of the Perimeter CID, reports there are no silver bullets to solve Atlanta’s transportation problems but thanks to changes in the gas tax there is funding available. The MMIP program (Major Mobility Improvement Program) has $11B to allocate to 10 projects around the State.

The Top End Project at I-285 and Georgia 400 is one of the larger projects and is a public-private partnership. There will be managed toll lanes across the top of I-285 with two new west bound and two eastbound lanes from Spaghetti junction to I-75 in Cobb County. Granite blasting has begun with construction starting in 2023 for the project which will utilize state and federal funding.
