The DC Mastermind Group kicked off 2019 with a presentation from Roadside Development’s Richard Lake. Roadside is currently at work on the future City Ridge site on Wisconsin Avenue, more popularly known as the Fannie Mae redevelopment, where the company is managing to bring over 1 million square-feet of mixed-use development to a site in a neighborhood known for being unfriendly to development, all while circumventing the planned-unit development process and its likely pitfalls. Discussion topics also included the leasing launch of the Riverpoint project in Buzzard Point and the concern surrounding DC’s recently passed bill mandating much stricter energy-efficient building standards.
