HB2 was a hot topic of discussion wherein multiple Members and guests reported clients either backing out or panicking over the consequence of HB2 on their real estate. Besides the negative publicity to North Carolina, it is adversely affecting the industry and Members are facing it on a daily basis. However, they are hopeful that the legal ruling this November will rule HB2 as unconstitutional. Another speculation derived was that no change would be seen this year, up until the elections pass. Apart from HB2, a new threat to the industry is cyber fraud and hijacks. Members reported incidents within their peer groups of email hacks and data hijacks, wherein there was substantial monetary loss and worse.
