The competitive nature of real estate now has a guiding force thanks to the UNC Charlotte Belk College of Business. With the Childress Klein Center for Real Estate and MSRE Program, the school is educating the next generation of real estate professionals. Established in 2005, the center now boasts 33 students and a 100% placement rate. Dr. Steven Ott, the Dean of the College of Business, reports the students can take courses that will help them in the future including real estate law and land use policy as well as site feasibility analysis and financial modeling of real estate investments. Already recognized as a leader in the state, Dr. Ott wants to be a model on the national and global level in the very near future. Many members of the RPN Charlotte Mastermind group know first hand the top talent that comes out of the school, they have hired interns from the program who then become colleagues. The idea of collaborating across the industry is not just a pipe dream anymore, it’s in the works and Charlotte is leading the way.
