The members of Philadelphia’s Mastermind Group had a special presentation this month from Kevin C. Gillen of the Lindy Institute for Urban Innovation at Drexel University. Kevin spoke about the fluctuation of Philadelphia’s housing market over the past several decades, highlighting the tremendous post-recession recovery the city has seen over the past few years, particularly in comparison with other major cities and the Philadelphia suburbs. Homebuilding in the city has increased by 376% while falling 11.25% in the suburbs. He also touched on the positives, negatives and uncertainties Philadelphia faces if it hopes to continue this exciting period of growth and transformation.
