Moinian Group’s Hudson Yards Project in Full Swing
Gregg Weisser, Senior Vice President at the Moinian Group and a founding member of the NYC RPN, was this month’s guest speaker. After announcing that his firm had just received a green light from NYC to proceed with the next phase of its exciting new Hudson Yards office building, he provided the group with the architectural details of this much anticipated 1.9 million square foot office building at 3 Hudson Boulevard. In a short video and detailed slide show, members had their first glimpse of the sleek 66-story office tower, which features a unique 22 degree twist designed by architectural firm FXFOWLE to ensure maximum sunlight and panoramic views on all floors. The structure, which received a LEED Platinum designation for its sustainability attributes, features a green rooftop and park space at its base. It sits on top of the new extension of the No. 7 subway line, taking up a full city block between West 34th and 33rd Streets directly across from the Javits Center and the new Hudson Boulevard Park.
The group also discussed projections for additional office, residential, retail, and mixed use buildings that are in the planning and construction stages in the up and coming Hudson Yards section of the city. All told, this area of West Side Manhattan will see a resurgence of growth and activity, with more than 50 million square feet new construction planned or under construction.
