Brad Raber, Market Analyst with CoStar Group presented a market update comparing national trends and statistics with what is happening in Atlanta. The U.S. continues to experience above trend economic growth, a strong labor market and subdued inflation. Still, slow wage growth along with economic uncertainty, higher interest rates and rising inflation are a concern.
Locally, Atlanta job growth continues to outperform the national rate as new jobs are created and population shifts to the south. Demand for housing and office space remains high. Midtown leads in square footage construction but Brad noted that major developments are under construction throughout the metro area including 246k sq ft at Avalon II in Alpharetta and 370 sq ft at 725 Ponce.
