Hot topics for the February meeting of the NYC Mastermind Group ran the gamut – from cyber security in real estate and PoE (power over ethernet) lighting to cost management services for construction and Long Island City growth without Amazon.

Topping off the afternoon, the group was briefed in the benefits of ground lease financing from speaker David Eyzenberg of Eyzenberg & Co. The company works mostly in senior housing and multifamily. In particular, David noted success in ground lease financing for multifamily located near universities such as projects in Chapel Hill, NC and Blacksburg, VA. “There is tremendous value creation for developers and for acquirers as a way to reduce their capital funds,” he added.
