Detroit Members enjoyed a very informative and enlightening visit from Alan Weber, the guest speaker from the nine-month old Detroit Regional Partnership organization. Alan started with two people in January of 2019; his staff is now 21 strong. Many regional partnerships rely heavily on government funding, but Alan shared with the attendees that his organization only has a 4% government foothold. They are focused on and working for the corporations that choose to or need to move to Detroit. With a heavy international focus, Alan and a few others in his group travel extensively and can be congratulated on a 30% return with businesses. Detroit Regional Partnership also has comprehensive databases and research personnel that help with leveraging much of what they do.
