At the June meeting of the Dallas Mastermind Group, Doug Prude, economic development and planning analyst for the private nonprofit Downtown Dallas Inc. explained that downtown is as vibrant as ever. Currently, an estimated 135,000 people work downtown and 10,000 people live downtown. Residential development is booming; there are more than 7,000 residential units now under construction. Downtown Dallas Inc. continues to focus on keeping Dallas clean, attractive, and safe to draw more residents. Soon, work will begin on the city’s first downtown grocery store in 10 years – the upscale Royal Blue Grocery.
