NYC and Other 24-Hour Cities on the Upswing in 2017.
The February meeting of the New York City REAL Professionals Network kicked off with an exciting and engaging presentation by Economist and Fordham University Clinical Professor of Real Estate Hugh F. Kelly, PhD and CRE. Dr. Kelly is the author of 24-Hour Cities: Real Investment Performance, Not Just Promises – the first full length book that examines America’s top cities that “never sleep.” Not surprisingly, New York City is among six “24-hour” American cities that are the hub of dynamic economic, cultural, social, and real estate business growth in the U.S. Kelly discussed the factors that contribute to the development and success of the nation’s six Tier One 24-hour cities as well as nine that fit into the Tier Two, 18-hour city category.
This meeting was a highly attended one, with nine guests in attendance from companies across the real estate spectrum – from finance and brokers to architectural and business services. The growing NYC group also welcomed two new 2017 member companies: office architectural firm SAA and engineering firm Dresdner Robin. Both companies are also members of the Northern New Jersey RPN group.
