All-in-one architecture firm INTEC hosted this month’s DC Mastermind meeting and shared their expertise and experience in the more human-oriented successor to LEED certification, WELL building. Having worked on the first WELL Gold-certified building in the country, INTEC sees the new standard, or implementation of its tenets, as an important tool to help businesses recruit and retain employees across generations and to help developers and architects differentiate their offerings on the market.

Other discussion topics included how, as co-working giant WeWork remains in limbo, the industrial co-working sector is warming up and the GSA is planning to pilot its own co-working model. Also discussed are how investors are passing over attractive properties in Maryland for less-attractive properties in Virginia, be it because of right of first refusal laws in some counties in the former, or because of perception of Metro accessibility in some corridors in the latter.
